For children, we have a small pond with trout next to the house. Unfortunately, fishing is increasingly regulated. We would no longer be allowed to fish our own trout in our own pond without a fishing licence.

From the house you can see the Garbet river flowing through the valley just below. It is about a 20-minute walk, and even less for some small mountain streams coming down from the slopes.

You will be tempted by the wild brown trout (Fario), dark with red spots, known for its fighting spirit — and you can follow the rivers higher and higher up to the many mountain lakes.
Fishing season in category 1 rivers runs from mid-March to mid-September. Minimum catch size: 20 cm for brown trout, rainbow trout, char or brook trout; 23 cm for Arctic char; and 35 cm for lake trout (cristivomer).

- Children under 12 can fish using all methods (casting, spoon, live bait...) with the “discovery” licence at 2 euros in category 1 and 2 waters.
- Women can fish using all methods (casting, spoon, live bait...) with the “discovery” licence at 30 euros in category 1 and 2 waters.
- A day licence is available, valid from 1 June to 31 December. It must be purchased in the department where you fish, at 10 euros. There is no reciprocity with departments affiliated with the Club Halieutique and EHGO.
